Anglo-French Drugs & Industries Limited commenced its operations in India in 1923, by importing and selling pharmaceutical products. A few years later, the Company established its own manufacturing facilities in Bombay. By the year 1955, Anglo-French was one of the most reputed pharmaceutical organizations, manufacturing and marketing Sulpha drugs, Vitamins, Anti-Asthmatics and other ethical specialties.
In 1959, Anglo-French became an associate of F-Hoffmann-La Roche, Basle, Switzerland. This association enabled Anglo-French to have an access to the molecules developed by F.Hoffmann-La Roche.
At the turn of the sixth decade, Anglo-French entered the field of manufacture of Injectables in India. The Company was the first to manufacture "Single Vitamin" injectables and a combination of B Complex Vitamins. Later on, once again, Anglo-French was the first to manufacture and market in India a combination of Vitamin B1 and Vitamin B12.
In 1985, the controlling interest in the company was acquired by the Kanoria group and since then the Company has undergone a complete metamorphosis. The Company drew up ambitious growth plans, which included expansion of both Bulk Drugs and formulations manufacturing facilities.
Presently, the Company manufactures and markets a wide range of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products in the following therapeutic groups.

The entrepreneural nature of the company continues with a foray into propriety herbal medicines, a fast expanding, rapidly growing sector. Combining knowledge from the ancient system of Ayurveda, and modern day testing techniques, Anglo-French has developed a wide range of products for a variety of indications.
The Company also undertakes contract manufacturing for other companies.
As part of a diversification strategy, The group has also entered the soft furnishings market, with jaquards and finished products.
On the export front, the Company has started exporting its products to the countries in East Europe, Middle East and South East Asia. In the coming years, major thrust will be given to broaden the spectrum of export activities.
INFRASTRUCTURE:
MANUFACTURING:
The Company has a 'state-of-the-art' Injectable plant at Pithampur, M.P, designed so that not only additional injectables capacity can be created but it can also enable the Company to manufacture other pharmaceuticals and enter allied fields. The plant has already received WHO GMP approval.
To enhance its competitive advantage through production of specialties of highest standards, the Company has a modern Tabletting unit at Peenya, Bangalore. This plant in all its diligence meets the rapidly growing demand for its major products. It has been set up with most sophisticated automatic manufacturing equipments and has received WHO GMP approval.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT:
The Company has a well-equipped R&D Department. Rigorously developed over the years, the R & D Department is the think-tank, which provides ANGLO-FRENCH not just the cutting edge of technology but keeps it a step ahead. R & D is engaged in the development of new formulations in keeping with the latest advances in medical and pharmaceutical sciences. This apart, in its efforts to enhance benefits to our customers, the R & D continuously strives towards innovating manufacturing procedures. The R&D Department is recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Over the years, Anglo-French has developed a wide range of Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical products in various therapeutic groups.
QUALITY ASSURANCE & QUALITY CONTROL:
The quality control standards and techniques are in accordance with the current good manufacturing practices complying to international standards. Quality Assurance Department controls and monitors all the operations which are directly or indirectly relates to the Quality of the product and processes. The Quality Control Department ensures that no product bearing the ANGLO-FRENCH insignia gets off the production line without successfully undergoing the most stringent tests. The Quality Control Department has a well thought out hierarchy. Each manufacturing unit has its own well-equipped Quality Control Unit. A Central Quality Unit at Bangalore sets the operating guidelines and co-ordinates between them. The individual units have enough autonomy to modify the operating procedures given by the Central Unit to suit the geographical and climatic requirements. The only guidelines, which are immutable, are the standards of quality set by the Central Unit.
The Quality Control Unit aggressively monitors not only the finished products but also every procedure involved in the making and marketing of them. The Quality Control Department with its keen discerning eye has gained the Company's manufacturing units the coveted WHO GMP approval, while maintaining a quality readily accepted in the CIS, most of South East Asia and of Africa.

The vitality of ANGLO-FRENCH is derived from the dedicated and committed Marketing team spread over the entire Indian terrain, which compromises of about 500+ strong field force, 23 C & F Depots and 1000+ Distributors.
With over eight decades of experience, ANGLO-FRENCH is all set to tap the vast potential of the rapidly growing domestic and global markets. In its bid to be among the top 50 pharmaceutical companies in India, the company has embarked on a broad based strategy of launching new as well as well-established molecules. ANGLO-FRENCH aims at providing its customers with a wide range of the latest quality products in the therapeutic areas of vitamins, nutrition, sleep inducers and anti-epileptics. The company aims at becoming a leader and an innovator in these areas, which are its core segments.
The company is presently looking out for strategic alliances with international companies.
